In short - If you have Office 365 or Microsoft 365 you can continue to use Publisher 365 until October 2026 after which the application will not open.

If you have Publisher 2021 / 2019 or earlier - Publisher will open and work as standard however you will not get program updates such as templates or security updates. Many do not use these updates so it will function as it is doing so currently.

if you have office 2024 - There is no Publisher application within the suite. There is no way to mix old and new office suites with Office 2024 or Office 365.

What this means - You either have to uninstall Office 2024 and buy then install Office 2021 with publisher.

Use a secondary device with Windows 10/11 and use Publisher 2021 on this device. (More experienced users can dual boot their device to have 2 instances of windows running and have one side with Publisher suite and other side with Office 2024/Office 365).

When Microsoft launched Office 2024 they stopped the activation of Publisher 2021 and Publisher 2019 as a standalone. this means OPublisher 2021 and 2019 are only available as part of Office 2021/2019 Professional plus and other suites

Uninstall Office 2024 and use Office 2021. There is not many changes from 2021 to 2024 and this is seen to be the easiest and most common choice amongst our clients today.
